The Inn at Pine Terrace is located in beautiful Oconomowoc, WI. The building is one of the most historical locations in town, and it dates back to 1879. It has been serving as a hotel since 1925, and we've worked hard to update the facilities to appeal to modern guests while retaining the classic, old-world charm.

In 1844, the Town of Oconomowoc was established.
"Built in 1879 as a private summer residence for the two Schuttler brothers , The Inn at Pine Terrace was modeled on the design of a French nobleman's castle near Vienna. The original owners, wagon builders from Chicago, named their estate 'Mon Bijou' (My Jewel).
This nineteen room Victorian mansion was the showplace of Oconomowoc when it was built by Peter and Henry Schuttler in 1879 at cost of $30,000. The Schuttlers were successful Chicago wagon manufacturers.
By the mid-1850s, Schuttler was one of the leading wagon makers in the United States. His factory employed about 100 people and produced about 1,800 wagons per year, which sold for about $75.
In the 1920s, the home was sold and began its life as the Pine Terrace Resort. The inn property consisted of 150+ acres stretching down to Fowler Lake and the home acted as the centerpiece of the popular lakefront resort.
